Pentecost 2018 Weekend Schedule

Remnant Fellowship anticipates a glorious Pentecost celebration this weekend as we observe this festival ordained by God. We could not be more excited! Under the direction of Gwen Shamblin, Remnant Fellowship Church has observed Pentecost for over 15 years as was commanded in Leviticus 23. It is a beautiful time to honor God and to observe his commands.

“‘From the day after the Sabbath, the day you brought the sheaf of the wave offering, count off seven full weeks. Count off fifty days up to the day after the seventh Sabbath, and then present an offering of new grain to the Lord. From wherever you live, bring two loaves made of two-tenths of an ephah of the finest flour, baked with yeast, as a wave offering of firstfruits to the Lord. Present with this bread seven male lambs, each a year old and without defect, one young bull and two rams. They will be a burnt offering to the Lord, together with their grain offerings and drink offerings—a food offering, an aroma pleasing to the Lord.  Then sacrifice one male goat for a sin offering and two lambs, each a year old, for a fellowship offering. The priest is to wave the two lambs before the Lord as a wave offering, together with the bread of the firstfruits. They are a sacred offering to the Lord for the priest. On that same day you are to proclaim a sacred assembly and do no regular work. This is to be a lasting ordinance for the generations to come, wherever you live.”

-Leviticus 23:15-20

Traditionally, we use this time of year as an opportunity for those desiring to be baptized and also to confirm our 13-year-old youth and dedicate our new babies to the Lord…2018 has certainly been a blessed year already! We are grateful to get to recognize almost fifty 13-year-olds who have chosen to live for God alone, and dedicate almost forty babies to God. This is also the opportunity for those who wish to publicly announce that they want to live for God whole-heartedly to be baptized. Nearly 100 people have made this decision and will be baptized this weekend! For more information on the tradition of Pentecost, read this article on Remnant Fellowship News HERE.
