WORDS from GWEN SHAMBLIN – During the Remnant Fellowship Passover and Resurrection Celebration
“Once you see the need to be born again, you are ready to leave Egypt and to understand the Exodus. The Israelites did not just live out this Exodus for just a nice children’s Bible story. Colossians 2:17 says…‘These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ.”
All of this is a shadow, an outline, yet a parallel to our reality. If you do not know that you are enslaved then you will never understand anything, you are never at fault – always projecting, you never do anything. But it all comes clear when you stop judging others and sincerely ask God to show you your own heart, your own enslavement – the sins of the flesh or the sins of the disposition, lust of the flesh, the lusts of the eye, the pride of life.
Each is equally wrong because you were made to be in God’s image and to follow His humble, in-control Christ – a sign that you have surrendered, that you’ve looked inside and laid it down is that you then have God’s Control – and you bear the fruits of His Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. The Bible also tells us you must be born again of Jesus Christ – put off the old and put on the new to be saved. Like Jesus who humbly looked at God every day and said not My will but Yours; whatever He wanted. Yes, the parallels come clear – For one – you must know that Pharaoh represents Satan and evil. How did they get free? How do we get out and get free? We saw the slavery. God showed us our slavery, and we hated it and just like the Israelites did, we cried out to God. God had us take the Lamb of God into our hearts – like the Israelites did on the 10th of the month. They left Egypt in a hurry. You imitate that, and they did and did not look back. They ate the Passover meal – Jesus ate the Passover meal, all the early Christians ate the Passover meal… a real communion – you want to be just like Him, Christ, our Passover lamb. The bitter herbs – all the testimonies that have been going on all week long. All the parents telling their children, ‘Don’t go back there. You don’t want to be like that. It was so hard. You don’t want to go into that sin or that sin.’ All the bitter herbs remind you of the pain of your bitterness of sin. Israel left in such a hurry that the yeast did not have time to rise – bread without yeast – no time for sin to ever rise back up as it rises up in the night – no time to look back to a sinful life…”
CONCLUDING WORDS from GWEN SHAMBLIN – Also during the Remnant Fellowship Passover and Resurrection Celebration
“I pray in the Name of Jesus Christ that all of you who have visited who have come from around the world – many first-timers, a lot of new members. I pray in the Name of Jesus Christ that you can feel the power of God in this place and the power of God fighting for you and against the enemies – look at all those who have crossed the Red Sea – all who have gone from death to life. Look at the city He is building in the Promised Land. Have you left Egypt? Are you totally free from all anger, greed, and worries and the lists that Paul writes out for us that are in the Old and New Testament? How did these others escape the devil’s trap – how did they get across the Red Sea…how did they accept their cross – be born again – go from death to life for the sake of God and Christ? God saved them from the voices that have said, as they did to Christ while He was hanging on the cross… ‘Save yourself, save yourself.’ You don’t need to save yourself; God will save you – you need only be still and let God show you how He can save you. Slow down, let God feed you. Let God care for you. Stop playing god – and let God rescue you from all problems. Quit taking His job away from Him. Like the wife trying to be the husband. Quit trying to do that so that you can have a relationship. Just remember that you have come a long way – you were greedy for more, you were jealous at one time, you were depressed, a lot of you were on pills, angry, and now, look, this is the happiest group. My goodness, it just oozes with happiness and joy and humility and everyone being so kind to each other and keeping each other in homes and all these children being so sweet to one another. Humble and happy and learning to let go, making sure that you’ve quit grabbing. You have tasted death to your wills, death to self, self-denial – the life free from idols…”
And what a LIFE it is! Praise GOD!
